A major accident has taken place on Pathankot-Chamba-Bharmaur National Highway 154A. A vehicle carrying five people going on the Manimahesh Yatra suddenly fell into the Ravi River near Durgathi Mata Temple. The incident took place in a fast-flowing area of the Ravi River, making rescue operations difficult.
As soon as the accident was reported, local people immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations. Due to their promptness, two people in the vehicle were safely evacuated. However, the other three people in the vehicle were swept away in the strong current of the Ravi River.
Local administration and police teams have also reached the spot. A large-scale rescue operation is being carried out to search for the missing people. Due to the fast flow of the river, it is becoming challenging to locate the missing people. Police said that all the people in the vehicle were going for the Manimahesh Yatra. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area due to this tragic incident.
