Five friends from Chamba district found it costly to hunt wild animals. One young man died from a gunshot wound during the hunt, while four others were arrested by police. The deceased youth has been identified as Dalip alias Deepu, son of Kansh, village and post office, Teesa, Tehsil Churah.
According to reports, on Saturday evening, five friends from the Teesa area had gone to Chaklu in Chamba with guns to hunt wild animals. They were waiting for their prey. At around 8 p.m., a gun suddenly fired. The bullet struck Dalip alias Deepu in the leg, causing him to bleed profusely. Four other companions put Dalip alias Deepu in their car and took him to Teesa Hospital for treatment. He had lost a lot of blood due to the gunshot. Upon arrival at Teesa Hospital, doctors declared him dead.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the Sadar police station arrived in Teesa and took the body into custody. A case was registered and an investigation began. Police have also arrested four of Dalip’s associates: Roop Singh, son of Daulat Ram, Happy, son of Kewal, Sushil, son of Lal Chand, and Lovely, son of Mahinder Singh, all of Teesa, Chamba district.
Chamba SP Abhishek Yadav stated that the young man died from a gunshot wound. Chamba Sadar police have arrested four of the deceased youth’s associates. The body has been taken into custody and placed in the mortuary of Chamba Medical College for a post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. They are gathering information about the gun used to fire the shot. A forensic team has been called to Chamba for further investigation.
