The weather in Himachal Pradesh is likely to deteriorate again, due to which the possibility of rain and snowfall has increased in the state. Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a forecast regarding the upcoming weather, according to which the weather will remain clear in the state till January 10.
However, light to moderate rain and snowfall may occur at some places in the state on January 11. On January 12, there may be rain and snowfall at some places in the central and high hilly areas of the state and rain at some places in the lower hilly plain areas. After this, the weather is forecast to remain dry in the entire state from January 13.
Due to this change in weather, fluctuations in temperature can also be seen in the state. There is no possibility of any major change in the minimum and maximum temperatures during the coming three days, while the cold may increase further due to snowfall in the high mountain areas.
There was dense fog in the low plains like Bilaspur on Wednesday, due to which people were not able to come out of their homes from morning till afternoon. Visibility was greatly reduced due to fog, which also affected traffic. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in the lower hilly and plain areas from January 8 to 10. Besides, there has also been a warning of cold wave at some places in the state. Due to fog, the day temperature may also drop and the cold may increase.
In the tribal district Lahaul-Spiti, the Public Works Department is busy in restoring the roads which were closed due to snowfall recently. The Public Works Department is removing snow from the roads amid minus temperature till 8:00 pm.
The department has restored 107 roads out of 136 that were closed due to snowfall. Restoration work of other roads is going on.
