Students gain insights into OSD manufacturing, industry skills, and career opportunities
Baddi: The School of Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences at Baddi University organized an informative guest lecture on November 18, 2025, featuring Mr. Hemant Kumar, Manufacturing Manager at Cipla Limited. The session aimed to provide students with practical insights into the evolving pharmaceutical industry.
Drawing from his extensive experience with several leading pharmaceutical companies, Mr. Kumar shared valuable real-world perspectives with the students. His lecture focused on “Emerging Trends in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Career Opportunities and Skill Development for Future Professionals, and Basics about Oral Solid Dosage (OSD).”
During the session, he discussed key industry developments such as automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, continuous manufacturing systems, and the growing importance of data integrity in ensuring quality and compliance. He also explained the fundamental steps involved in the manufacturing of Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) forms, including granulation and compression processes.
Mr. Kumar further guided students on the essential skills required to succeed in the pharmaceutical sector, emphasizing the importance of knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.
The lecture also highlighted various career opportunities available in the industry, particularly in fields such as production, quality assurance, and research and development, underscoring the increasing demand for skilled professionals.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Dean Prof. (Dr.) Ravinesh Mishra along with other department heads. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students motivated to align their academic learning with industry expectations and to focus on continuous skill development for their future careers.
