Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth over Rs. 62.17 crore in Kinnaur district through video conferencing from Shimla.
Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated OPD Block and Geriatric Ward near Regional Hospital at Reckong Peo constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.55 crore, Rs. 1.06 crore PHC building at Hango/Chulling, Rs. 90 lakh PHC building at Leo, Rs. 1.16 crore building of Government Senior Secondary School, Lippa, Rs. 1.75 crore building of Government Senior Secondary School, Pangi, Rs. 84 lakh building of Government Middle School Yuwaringi, Rs. 4.21 crore Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Complex building at Reckong Peo, Rs. 1.79 crore stadium at Pooh, Rs. 6.52 crore flow irrigation scheme Kamroo in Sangla Tehsil, Rs. 4.16 crore sewerage system in village Sangla, Rs. 63 lakh solid waste management cluster Sangla, Rs. 32 lakh Gausadan at Badang in Gram Panchayat Kamroo, Rs. 90 lakh PHC at Sapni, Rs. 71 lakh PHC building at Bara Kamba and Rs. two crore market yard and agriculture produce marketing complex at Tapri.
Chief Minister also laid foundation stones of Rs. 14.20 crore multi storeyed parking at Reckong Peo, Rs. three crore lift water supply scheme to Reckong Peo and adjoining areas in Tehsil Kalpa, Rs. 45 lakh over head storage reservoir near DC Office Rekong Peo, Rs. 2.51 crore food protection works in Katgaon in Nichar tehsil, Rs. 38 lakh Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan at Kamroo, Rs. 93 lakh multi purpose parking at Sangla, Rs. 4.66 crore Sarai Bhawan at Bhabanagar, Rs. 78 lakh helipad at Kafnoo, Rs. 2.39 crore combined office building at Tapri and Rs. 3.37 crore Flow Irrigation Scheme Lippa to Karla.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that this day was a historic occasion for the people of Kinnaur district as developmental projects worth Rs 62.17 crore were dedicated to the people of the area. He said that similarly this day was a historic occasion for the people of the country as Bhumi Pujan of Lord Ram Temple was being performed today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this has paved way for construction of a magnificent Lord Ram Temple.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was giving special thrust on development of tribal areas as these area shares international borders. He said that special thrust was being laid on strengthening infrastructure such as roads, communication, power and water supply in these areas. He said that the State Government was ensuring that adequate funds were made available so that pace of development does not suffer due to want of funds.
Chief Minister said that the Congress leader from the area make tall claims regarding development in the area during the Congress tenure, but actually nothing was done on the ground. He said that the present State Government in a single day has dedicated projects worth Rs 30 crore. He said that about Rs 84 crore were being spent in the district on Border Roads to facilitate the people and added that out of the total 65 Panchayats of the area 60 Panchayats had already been connected with the roads and the remaining would be connected soon.
A documentary on developmental journey of Kinnaur district was also screened on the occasion.
Member of Parliament Mandi Parliamentary Constituency Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the State has witnessed unprecedented development during the last two and a half years tenure of the present State Government. He also detailed various welfare schemes launched by the State Government. He also appreciated the effective steps taken by the State Government for tackling Corona pandemic in the State.
Vice Chairman HP State Forest Corporation Surat Negi welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees in the district through video conferencing. He said that all the 65 Panchayats of the district have been taking the benefits of developmental schemes initiated by the State Government.
