Solan, March 24
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Solan, in collaboration with the Police Department, organised a cyber awareness programme at LR Institute of Legal Studies to educate students and the public about legal rights, duties, and the rising threat of cybercrime.
Chief Guest, Chief Judicial Magistrate Akanksha Dogra, highlighted the growing importance of legal literacy and cyber awareness in the digital era. She stressed that awareness of laws and safe online practices can empower citizens and help them safeguard themselves against fraud and exploitation.
The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary also addressed the gathering, emphasising that DLSA is committed to providing free legal aid to all sections of society and ensuring access to justice. He underlined the need for vigilance in dealing with cyber-related offences.
Representatives from the Police Department, including Head Constable Neelam, Constable Shashank, and officer Dilip Kumar, actively participated in the session. They educated attendees about various cyber threats such as online fraud, phishing, identity theft, and misuse of social media, along with preventive measures and legal remedies.
Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, making the programme both informative and impactful.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Priyanka, who expressed gratitude to the guests, participants, and organisers.
