Sanjay Awasthi stated that the economic strength of the state lies in the comprehensive development of rural areas. He was addressing a public gathering after listening to people’s grievances during the “Sarkar Aapke Dwar” program held at Pansoda village in Gram Panchayat Sanyadi Mor, Arki subdivision.
He said that the state government is working toward realizing the vision of a self-reliant Himachal by strengthening the rural economy. Long-term decisions have been taken to reinforce agriculture, horticulture, and dairy sectors, while road connectivity is being improved down to the village level.
Major Relief for Dairy Farmers
The MLA highlighted that the government has significantly increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for milk to ensure better returns for dairy producers. He added that this move is also a strong step toward women empowerment, as women play a key role in animal husbandry and milk collection. There is also a possibility of further increasing the MSP for milk in the 2026–27 budget.
He further stated that MSP has been fixed for naturally grown wheat, turmeric, and maize, benefiting farmers on a large scale. The proposal to declare an MSP for naturally grown ginger has also been brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and the Agriculture Minister. He urged youth to take advantage of these schemes and explore self-employment opportunities near their homes.
Crores Allocated for Development Works
He said that the Arki Assembly constituency contributes significant mining revenue to the state. Due to his persistent efforts, adequate funds from the mining fund have started flowing for the development of the constituency since 2021. In the first year alone after 2021, ₹24 crore was received for development works.
Approximately ₹75 lakh has been spent on various development projects in Gram Panchayat Sanyadi Mor over the past three years. Funds have been allocated and announced for link roads, drinking water tanks, and other basic infrastructure. Financial assistance was also announced for Mahila Mandals and the local Yuvak Mandal.
Assurance of Time-Bound Redressal
During the program, the MLA listened to various public grievances and directed officials to resolve them promptly. He reaffirmed that the overall development of the Arki Assembly constituency remains his top priority and assured that pending demands would be addressed in a phased manner.
Several representatives of social organizations, administrative officials, women’s groups, self-help groups, and local residents were present on the occasion.
