A case of murder of a migrant elderly woman has come to light under Haripur police station. Seeing the marks visible on the woman’s neck, it is suspected that she was strangled. After the woman’s death, her son and daughter-in-law fled from the spot. Later the police arrested them near Una. The deceased has been identified as Munni Devi (65), a resident of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Five months ago, the accused’s two younger daughters also died under suspicious circumstances.
Information was received at 6:45 am on Friday about an elderly woman lying dead in a rented house in the village Bandh of Panchayat Bhangwar under police post Ranital. DSP Dehra Anil Kumar reached the spot with the police team. Also, the forensic team was called to the spot, and the team collected evidence. On examining the woman’s body, marks of wounds were found on the neck. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it to Tanda for post-mortem. The police are investigating the case from every aspect. The accused will be produced in the court on Saturday and taken on remand. Two daughters died in August.
The elderly woman was living with her son, Nek Pal, and daughter-in-law for about 20 years. In August last year, two daughters of Nek Pal, a daily wage laborer from UP, died under suspicious circumstances. According to the case, everyone had dinner at night and went to sleep. At midnight, the health of three-year-old girl Anshika deteriorated; she started vomiting. Soon her health deteriorated, and she died at home. After this, Nek Pal’s second daughter Khushi (7) also fell ill, and she also started vomiting. The girl was taken to Medical College Tanda, but she died on the way. The next day, at around 10 o’clock, the mother’s health also deteriorated. The mother was immediately taken to Medical College Tanda, where she was saved.
