The double murder of father and son in Una district created a sensation. On Monday morning, a dispute started between two families over land, which ultimately led to the murder of a father and son. 51-year-old Sanjeev Kumar and his 26-year-old son Ravindra Kumar were shot dead in Lower Bhadasali Gram Panchayat of Haroli area. After the shootout, Sanjeev Kumar, husband of Lower Bhadasali Panchayat Pradhan Saroj Devi, and son Ravindra Kumar were brought to the Regional Hospital Una. Here the team of doctors tried their best to save both of them, but both lost their lives due to the bullets fired from the gun.
It is being told that there was a land dispute going on between the Panchayat Pradhan’s husband Sanjeev Kumar, son Ravindra and the Panchayat Pradhan himself with retired Naib Tehsildar Ramesh Chand and his son Deepak. Due to this dispute, there was a quarrel and fight between the two families, after which the father and son left to go to the police station. According to the police, Deepak Kumar, who is a lawyer by profession, shot Ravindra Kumar and his companion sitting in the Scorpio car with a rifle. He also shot the Panchayat Pradhan and her husband sitting with him, which hit husband Sanjeev Kumar. Video footage of this has also surfaced. After the incident, the accused, Deepak Kumar is said to be absconding, in search of whom the police are conducting raids at various places.
On receiving information about the incident, SP Una Rakesh Singh reached the spot with his team. ASP Sanjeev Bhatia and many other officers also reached here and sealed the entire spot. The team of forensic experts collected all the evidence. Meanwhile, the road was closed from both sides. Both the vehicles were taken into custody.
