A fire broke out in Tandi village of the Banjar subdivision at around 3:30 pm on the evening of New Year, which has created havoc in the entire village. 17 houses and 6 cowsheds, including the store of God Sheshnag, were burnt in the incident. Other houses of the village have also suffered partial damage.
Banjar (Lakshman): A fire broke out in Tandi village of the Banjar subdivision at around 3:30 pm on the evening of New Year, which has created havoc in the entire village. 17 houses and 6 cowsheds, including the store of God Sheshnag, were burnt in the incident. Other houses of the village have also suffered partial damage. The administrative assessment indicates that the incident has damaged property worth approximately Rs 10 crore. According to the information, the fire incident started from the cowshed (padacha) of Dalip Singh’s son Himmat Ram and soon engulfed one house, after which other houses were engulfed.
The fire department was informed about the incident, but by the time the fire department team reached the village, the fire had engulfed 17 houses and 6 cowsheds of the village, which could not be controlled. On the other hand, on receiving the information of the incident, SDM Banjar Pankaj Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, and the police department reached the spot and started an investigation of the causes of the accident and started rescue work. SDM said that the administration distributed 15,000 rupees, blankets, tarpaulins, and other useful items to the affected families as immediate relief.
People tried, but all in vain.
Local villagers Hansraj, Roop Singh, Jaswant Singh, Pinku, Kamlesh, Prakash, Kamal, Kaku, Chandan, Dunichand, Hetram, Mandeep, Pinku, and retired soldier Girdhari Lal, etc., tried to control the fire, but the fire spread so fast that it became difficult to control it.
