Cabinet ministers and other dignitaries paid floral tributes at the statue of Rajiv Gandhi.
The death anniversary of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated today by paying floral tributes to his statue at Sadbhavna Chowk in Chhota Shimla. Health and Family Welfare Minister Colonel Dr Dhaniram Shandil, Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Congress State President Vinay Kumar, MLA Shimla Urban Harish Janartha, Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, councillors and other dignitaries paid floral tributes at the event.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Colonel Dr Dhaniram Shandil also administered the oath of non-violence and tolerance to all the people present.
During the programme, artists from the Information and Public Relations Department paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi by singing patriotic songs and bhajans.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Shimla Bhupendra Atri, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Pankaj Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Devi Chand Thakur and other dignitaries were also present in the condolence meeting who remembered the former Prime Minister by paying floral tributes.
