Mandi:
On the sacred occasion of the International Mahashivratri Festival in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla arrived in the historic town and was accorded a warm welcome by local residents and public representatives.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur received the Governor at the Mandi Circuit House and presented him with a bouquet, formally welcoming him to the Devbhoomi. Dr. Sadhana Thakur, member of the National Governing Body of the Indian Red Cross Society and wife of Jai Ram Thakur, was also present on the occasion.
Jai Ram Thakur stated that the Governor’s gracious presence has added immense dignity and grandeur to the centuries-old cultural festival. He remarked that the participation of distinguished guests enhances the significance of the festival and inspires efforts toward preserving the rich heritage and “Dev culture” of the state.
The International Mandi Mahashivratri Festival, known as a grand congregation of thousands of deities from across the region, witnessed heightened devotion and enthusiasm with the Governor’s presence.
Several BJP leaders and public representatives, including MLAs Anil Sharma, Inder Singh Gandhi, Puran Chand, Deep Raj, Mayor Virender Bhatt, and BJP District President Nihal Chand Sharma, were also present during the welcome ceremony.
