Solan: Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Sainik Welfare Minister Dhaniram Shandil said the state government is committed to connecting the last person of the state with the stream of development. He was addressing people during the “Government at the Door of the Village” programme organised in Gram Panchayat Jaunaji in Solan subdivision.
The minister heard public grievances from residents of Jaunaji, Kotla Mashiwar, Ser Baneda, Padag, Salogra, Dharot, Basal, Shamrod and Municipal Corporation Solan areas. He said the initiative aims to deliver government services at villagers’ doorsteps and ensure swift redressal of issues.
Dr Shandil stated that strengthening healthcare infrastructure remains a key priority of the state government. He said modern equipment worth around ₹3,300 crore is being installed in health institutions across the state in a phased manner to improve access to quality healthcare. He also stressed the need to raise awareness about health and cautioned against drug abuse, calling it a serious social challenge that threatens the future of youth.
The minister directed officials of the Electricity Board, Water Power, Public Works and Revenue Departments to resolve complaints promptly.
During the programme, land ownership certificates under the Himachal Pradesh Chakota Scheme 2015 were distributed to beneficiaries. A free health check-up camp was also organised by the Health Department, where 90 people were screened. Additionally, 20 mutations and 22 Aadhaar cards were updated.
A total of 75 complaints and demands were received, including 54 grievances and 21 demands. Most were resolved on the spot, while the remaining were forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action.
