A shocking firing incident was reported in Shimla district after a dispute over borrowed money escalated into violence.
According to district police, an FIR (No. 15/2026) has been registered at Police Station Jhakri under Sections 109 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, based on a complaint filed by Rajesh Dogra, a resident of Village Koti, Tehsil Rampur, District Shimla.
As per the complaint, on February 22, 2026, Rajesh Dogra, along with his companions Anil Kumar, Sumit, and Piyush, was returning home in an Alto car from Village Sheneri. The complainant had earlier demanded repayment of money he had lent to Suresh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Village Phunja, Tehsil Rampur Bushahr.
At around 11:30 AM near Doi Gaud (nala), an argument broke out between the two parties which reportedly turned into a scuffle. During the altercation, accused Suresh Kumar Sharma allegedly fired a shot from a firearm kept in his vehicle.
At the time of firing, the complainant was seated inside his car. The bullet struck the rear window glass behind the driver’s seat, shattering it. A glass fragment reportedly caused minor injury to the complainant.
Police acted swiftly and arrested the accused on the same night, February 22, 2026. He will be produced before the Hon’ble Court at Rampur on February 23, 2026.
A forensic team from SFSL Junga has visited the crime scene to collect physical evidence. Police are conducting detailed interrogation regarding the weapon used and efforts are underway to recover it.
