Shimla, February 17: A discussion during the Himachal Pradesh Budget Session turned heated after a personal remark was made in the Assembly.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur were debating the state’s financial condition and Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) when the exchange became personal.
Jai Ram Thakur made a comment about the Chief Minister’s hair while criticising the government’s financial management. The remark caused laughter and noise in the House.
The Chief Minister responded strongly and said the discussion should focus on real issues, not personal comments. He defended his government’s work and said they are trying to improve the state’s financial condition.
The opposition raised concerns about salaries, pensions and development work, while the government said it is committed to financial stability.
The incident showed rising political tension during the ongoing Budget Session.
