A 21-day webinar series to commemorate the 7th International day of Yoga on the theme “Health and Happiness”, was virtually inaugurated today by Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Health Minister, Himachal Pradesh.
The welcome note of the webinar, being organised by School of Yoga and Naturopathy at Shoolini University, was delivered by the Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof. P.K Khosla, He shared his knowledge and experience on Yoga. He is a disciple of Swami Paramahansa Yogananda and practicing Kriya Yoga for 29 years. Prof. P.K Khosla also described the establishment of AYUSH wellness center at Shoolini University where Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy will be studied.
While addressing the students and faculty members of Shoolini University, Health Minister, Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that Yoga is the only technique to know yourself and potential and it is the journey from outer to inner self. He also emphasised on Ashtang Yoga and the concept of Bahiranga ( Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara ) and Antarang Yoga ( Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi ). He shared the journey of yoga from Vedic period to this contemporary era. Dr Saizal appreciated the efforts of the University’s Yoga department who is actively organising Yoga sessions and training.
Later the Pro- Chancellor, Shoolini University Mr. Vishal Anand delivered his remarks on the inaugural session and shared that Yoga is an essential practice to keep ourselves safe from all kinds of diseases as well as from Covid. He also stated that Shoolini University is also helping the society in this pandemic by establishing a Covid care center with the capacity of 100 beds.
On the occasion Yoga demonstration was also presented by Miss Debolina Biswas, students of M.Sc Yoga and Miss Nikita, from B.Sc Yoga.
The vote of Thanks was given by Pro Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand and closing remark was presented by Head, School of Yoga and Naturopathy, Associate Prof, Dr. Subodh Sourabh Singh. The webinar was co-ordinated by Assistant Prof, Dr. Mala Tripathi
