Drug dealers in Himachal will get death penalty, CM Sukhu introduced this bill in the House
The problems of drug dealers in Himachal are going to increase now. The Sukhu government of Himachal has now cracked down on the drug mafia. If any youth dies due to chitta or any other type of drugs in the state, then the law will have a provision of death penalty for the person smuggling that drug. For this, a bill was introduced in the Assembly on Wednesday to bring a new law.
This bill, introduced in the House by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, not only provides for life imprisonment for drug dealers, but provision for death penalty has also been made in the new law for them. The Chief Minister introduced the Himachal Pradesh Organized Crime Prevention and Control Bill in the House. After the passage of the bill, drug dealers in the state can be punished not only with life imprisonment, but also with death penalty. Along with this, a provision for a fine of Rs 10 lakh has also been made in the law.
To crack down on criminal syndicates, the government is making a law with the aim of ensuring strict punishment against it. According to the provisions of the bill, if such prohibited drugs, which can cause addiction, are caught in the state in the state, their transportation, supply and possession, then punishment will be given under the provisions of the new law. Apart from this, punishment will be given under the provisions of Himachal Pradesh Organized Crime Prevention and Control Act in the case of illegal mining, wildlife smuggling, human trafficking, doing any work with false documents, human organ smuggling, dumping of dangerous substances and forgery of intellectual goods.
This punishment will be given as per the provisions of the bill
According to the provisions of the bill, if someone dies due to violence by a member of the organized crime syndicate or the syndicate, then life imprisonment or death penalty will be given. The property acquired by the members of the syndicate through drugs or other illegal means will be confiscated. The government can seize this property. A 14-day notice will have to be given to the concerned magistrate for confiscation. According to the nature of the crimes, the punishment can be 6 months, one year, 2 years or 10 years. This bill is yet to be discussed in the assembly.
In the bill, the state government has also banned the sale of tobacco or other narcotic drugs or substances within 500 meters of educational institutions. Earlier in Himachal, there was a ban on selling such substances within 100 meters of educational institutions. The bill will be passed after discussion. It will be implemented after the bill is published in the gazette.
