Pending arrears transferred directly to accounts of retired employees and family pensioners, says CM Sukhu
Shimla, August 28: The Himachal Pradesh government has released ₹20 crore towards pending arrears of retired Class IV employees of the state electricity board and family pensioners, providing financial relief to hundreds of beneficiaries ahead of Raksha Bandhan.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the pending arrears of all Class IV pensioners and family pensioners of the electricity board had been cleared, with the amount directly transferred to their bank accounts.
“The government believes that retired employees should receive their statutory financial benefits on time. Keeping this in view, the pending arrears have been released and transferred directly to the beneficiaries,” Sukhu said.
The chief minister said retired electricity board employees had played a significant role in strengthening the power infrastructure of the state and ensuring an uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers during their years of service.
“These employees dedicated an important part of their lives to the service of the electricity board. Protecting the rights and ensuring the welfare of such employees and their families is the government’s responsibility,” he said.
Sukhu said employees and pensioners remained among the priorities of the state government. He added that the government was making continuous efforts to protect their interests, resolve financial matters and clear pending dues.
The release of the ₹20 crore arrears came after the electricity board management recently issued directions to complete the necessary formalities related to pending arrears of retired Class IV employees and family pensioners.
The state government’s move to release the amount around Raksha Bandhan has brought significant relief to the beneficiaries, with the payments already credited to their accounts.
