Shimla
Preparations have begun for a major administrative reshuffle in Himachal Pradesh. Many IAS, IPS and HAS officers, including those in the Chief Minister’s Office, are to be shifted. Many department heads and administrative secretaries are being changed. Senior officers who have been working in the same department for a long time are to be transferred. Indiscipline has been shown in the Vimal Negi case. The administrative reshuffle is also being linked to this.
A list of transfers of IAS, IPS, HPS and HAS officers is being prepared in the Personnel Department. Deputy Commissioners of one or two districts have also been changed. Directors and heads of departments are also to be transferred. Himachal is currently facing a financial crisis.
In such a situation, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is trying to rescue Himachal from losses. Many initiatives are being taken by the government to make Himachal self-reliant. To implement this initiative firmly on the ground, changes have to be made in the bureaucracy. Officers will be given big responsibilities on the basis of performance.
The powers of those officers who are delaying the work will be reduced. There are many officers who have the additional workload of many departments. These officers are also constantly pressuring the government that they have an additional burden of work. In such a situation, there is a problem in disposing of the files on time. Departments will also be taken back from such officers and given to other officers.
