Shimla: Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that the Himachal Pradesh government has brought a huge relief package, about which it is praising. The government has given this package of Rs 4500 crores but it was not possible to bring this package without the help of the Centre. The Chief Minister has shown the schemes of the Central Government in his package by altering the figures, which is not right for him. Under this package, Rs 1000 crore will be spent from MNREGA, which is the jurisdiction of the Centre, and not the jurisdiction of the state government.
He said that the Central Government has sanctioned 6500 houses which are under Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana. Due to this, people whose houses have been damaged in the disaster will get a lot of benefit. Whose budget is more than Rs 100 crore. Under NDRF, Himachal Pradesh got Rs 364 crore and Rs 190 crore for the second time which is part of this package. People have contributed Rs 225 crore to the disaster relief fund, which is part of this package. This government has received a lot of funds in NDRF. Himachal government has received an amount of Rs 403 crore under NDRF. The government has received approximately Rs 86 crore under the State Disaster Fund. This government is also using the MLA’s development fund through this package. The state does not have a big contribution in this. But the Center provided as much help as it could. This package has been made from the same mixture. The contribution of more than Rs. 2 thousand crores under this relief package is clearly visible, the record of which is available with us.
He accused the government that the Congress government is picking and choosing regarding this package. A list of people belonging to particular political parties is being prepared at the block level and the strategy for how the benefits of this package should reach them is being decided.
He said that only those people who are eligible for relief should get relief and there should be no politics in it. He said that those who give us advice during the disaster are not following it themselves. Party politics is being done regarding this package.
He said that this government has failed in the last 10 months. It has been 10 months since the government was formed but instead of focusing on its work, the Congress government is making fun of us. I request you to focus on your work. Stop cursing us. During the Covid time, more than 10 thousand people who had served the people were also evacuated. Many of these people are coming to protest with small children, youth are committing suicide. Due to this people are facing a lot of problems. HRTC employees are not getting their salaries. Because of that people are facing disappointment during festivals.
Ever since the Congress government came to power in the state, the government has increased the prices of cement four times. This has also created a serious crisis for the people.
The Congress government should not talk about guarantees because it does not sound logical from their mouth.
