Himachal Pradesh National Law University celebrated National Sports Day on the 29th of August 2024 with a vibrant sports event that truly embodied the spirit of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary Indian hockey player in whose memory this day is observed. The event saw of participation of more than 100 students in a variety of competitions, including volleyball, where Team Ayush Thakur claimed victory, and a cricket exhibition match won by Team HPNLU. Team Harsh emerged victorious in the futsal exhibition match.
Additionally, a carrom event was held, and the chess event saw Hesham Ahsan as the winner. The badminton event included both a men’s team event and a mixed team event, showcasing the diverse talents of the participants.
Teams throughout the matches included players who’ve represented Himachal Pradesh National Law University in many internal events and external fests as well as freshers who got a first-hand experience of different sports being organised by the HPNLU Sports Committee. The day was marked by a strong sense of camaraderie, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship and unity among its students.
