Shimla:
The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has initiated the process to outsource the operation and maintenance (O&M) of eight of its hotels to the private sector.
According to an official communication issued from the HPTDC corporate office in Dharamshala, the decision has been approved by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The move aims to improve operational efficiency and management of selected tourism properties.
The hotels proposed to be given on O&M basis include Hotel Lake-View (Bilaspur), Hotel Mamleshwar (Chindi), Hotel Apple Blossom (Fagu), Hotel Chanshal (Rohru), Hotel Sarvari (Kullu), Hotel Old Roscommon (Kasauli), Hotel Shiwalik (Parwanoo) and Hotel Giriganga (Kharapathar).
HPTDC has also nominated Dhiraj Bali, Deputy General Manager (OP&Mkt), as the nodal officer to coordinate with the HP Infrastructure Development Board regarding the outsourcing process.
Officials said details of the identified hotels, including accommodation capacity and facilities, have been shared with the concerned authorities for further action. The selected properties will be operated and maintained by private players under the approved framework.
