Shimla:
Deputy Commissioner Shimla and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority Anupam Kashyap has directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sunni to assess the potential danger posed by silt accumulation in the Sutlej River and submit a detailed report at the earliest so that dredging work can be initiated promptly.
Chairing a review meeting on dredging operations in the Sutlej, the Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive report on damages caused by silt deposition to government departments, residential houses, agricultural land, water supply schemes, power houses, roads, sewage lines, and cow shelters.
