Barotiwala, October 9: Around 50 students from the Business Management and Commerce and Mechanical Engineering departments of IEC University, Himachal Pradesh, visited Milestone Gears Ltd in Barotiwala on Friday to gain practical insights into manufacturing processes, industrial operations and workplace management.
The industrial visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices, helping students understand the functioning of the manufacturing sector and prepare for future professional challenges.
During the visit, students learned about the company’s manufacturing processes, production operations and industrial management practices. The interaction also highlighted the importance of practical skills and industry exposure in enhancing employability and preparing students for the demands of the professional world.
The visit was organised under the guidance of the university’s Training and Placement Officer (TPO), Er. Vivek Shantal, and Dean Dr. Vikas Sheoran. Faculty members Neha Prajapati, Khushi Rani, Jasmin Kaur and Yogendra Singh accompanied the students.
Milestone Gears Ltd Plant Head Satyapal Sharma and his team welcomed the students and briefed them on the company’s industrial operations and production-related processes. The visit provided students with an opportunity to observe industrial practices closely and gain a better understanding of the skills and competencies required in the workplace.
IEC University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Puri and Registrar Dr. Prahlad appreciated the initiative and extended their best wishes to the students.
