Mandi/Dharampur: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur visited the Dharampur Assembly constituency and met with local leaders and officials to inquire about their well-being. He strongly criticized the Sukhu government for the poor condition of Dharampur’s roads.
He said that the poor condition of roads in the Dharampur assembly constituency has exposed the Sukhu government’s claims of development. The roads in the area have become a mess, riddled with potholes. The situation has become difficult for people to walk and for drivers to drive safely. The situation has worsened after the rains, but the government and administration are showing no serious efforts to find a permanent solution to the problem. Dharampur has a Congress MLA and the state is in power. Despite this, the people of the area are struggling to access basic amenities like roads.
Jairam Thakur said the government should disclose the budget allocated for road repair and maintenance, and how much of it was utilized on the ground. Where is the money meant for public development being spent? Basic amenities like roads, water, health, and education are in a deplorable state throughout the state. Today, the people of the state are missing the BJP government because, instead of providing for the people, the Sukhu government is busy taking away their benefits. Shutting down institutions, firing people, and cutting public services have become the Sukhu government’s primary focus.
During his stay in Dharampur, Jai Ram Thakur held a meeting with party officials and dedicated workers to discuss important issues facing the state and organizational matters in detail. Detailed discussions were held regarding the strengthening of the organization, the role of party workers, and preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. He called on all party workers to strengthen the organization down to the booth level and reach out to the public with full energy and dedication.
Seeing the enthusiasm and dedication of the workers, I am confident that the BJP will contest the upcoming assembly elections with complete unity. Workers will go from village to village and booth to booth to highlight the public’s problems and the government’s failures. He said that whatever was left unfinished in Dharampur this time will be made up through the hard work of the workers and the blessings of the people. In the upcoming assembly elections, we will ensure a landslide victory for the BJP in Dharampur and the entire state, and will oust the anti-people and anti-development Congress government from power.
