Directed by Dheeraj Raghuvanshi, the play “Kabira Khada Bazar Main” is a masterpiece due to its message, acting, and production. The play “Kabira Khada Bazar Main” is based on one of Kabir’s Dohas (couplets).itself,
The play is centered on the life of the 15th-century saint ‘Bhagat Kabir’ and highlights the life, poetry, and mystic message of Kabir. Kabir led the Bhakti movement, which was a sacred and social movement, and tackled the Hindu caste system through his message of love and kindness for all. The play also highlighted that society should be immensely influenced by their message of interfaith harmony, tolerance, and peace.
The play is based on Indian writer Bisham Sahni’s famous script and was directed by Dheeraj Raghuvanshi, who visually painted the era of Kabir with utmost perfection and showed his confrontation with Hindu and Muslim priests, which is the quintessence of love, tranquility, and harmony that is universal in its appeal.
Kabir, a lower-middle-class weaver, stood against the tyranny of the religious elite and fearlessly challenged the orthodoxy. His courage won him instant support not only in his times but could be seen on the faces and applause from the audience in the 21st century sitting in a cozy Gaiety theater, Shimla. This truly shows the success and relevancy of the message even in the present age and era, but also the evidence of how powerful and heart-touching the performances were of the actors.
The stage gave the audience an authentic theatrical feeling, and the voices and music reached each and every corner.
The Dohe recited by the artists was catchy and added delight to the play, making you more curious and engrossed in the story.
Each actor has performed impressively, especially the blind beggar, and Dayal Prasad, who portrayed the father, showcased exceptional acting skills, surpassing his directing abilities. Loe also captivated the audience with her performance. However, the weak portrayal of the emperor’s gestures left confusion in the end, seemingly accepting the ideology and then swiftly punishing it. But despite all the odds, the play succeeds in keeping the audience entertained throughout with a philanthropic message.
A couple from Haryana says. “The play was outstanding. We love the Kabira role the most. His excellent communication skills, intellect, rationality, understanding, courage, and command over the spoken language gave him the power to convey what Kabir wanted to convey to his followers.
However, Anurag Anand, director and producer, while talking with crazynewsindia, said, “I enjoyed a performance of the theatrical masterpiece, “Kabira Khada Baazar Mein,” directed by Dheeraj Raghuvanshi. It was a fascinating portrayal of life’s intricacies, ably constructed by an excellent ensemble of actors headed up by the brilliant Shoryaveer Sagar in his depiction as Kabira. His subtle performance was a perfect portrayal of the character. Every gesture and every expression demonstrated Sagar’s mastery of his craft. The play also owed a great deal to its supporting cast, including Jwahar Kaul, Neeraj Raghuvanshi, Neeraj Parashar, Rupesh Bhimta, Mohan Joshi, Anil Sharma, Mohit, Rekha, Surendra Gill, RamPrashidh Yadav, Rohit Kanwal, Ritu Raghuvanshi, Ashok, Divya, and Dayal Prashad. Their chemistry together added depth to the story, creating a mosaic of human emotions that moved their audience. Every actor contributed something special to the performance.
A special mention should also be made of Dheeraj Raghuvanshi’s direction. Every detail, from set design to lighting and sound, reflects Raghuvanshi’s vision. Seamless transitions and cleverly choreographed sequences that moved the plot gracefully forward demonstrated his directorial talent. The end result was a visually splendid, emotionally searing spectacle.
I would also like to thank the Department of Language, Art, and Culture for such sophisticated plays.”.
Kabira Khada Bazar Main is a demonstration of the impact live theater can make in promoting deep ideas and moving audiences. The play’s treatment of the human condition and performances that dazzled the eye made it a night to remember. I hope they have many more productions to come and will give me all my compliments. Their work not only captivates; it also makes one think, he added.
