In collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Solan, an awareness program on three key topics was organized today at Shades Law College. The awareness camp was chaired by Akanksha Dogra, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.
The awareness camp saw important discussions on topics like drug awareness and health guidance in the current context, impact of child marriage and human-wildlife conflict.
Akanksha Dogra provided detailed information on the Drug Awareness and Health Guidance Scheme-2025 on this occasion. She stated that the Drug Awareness and Health Guidance Scheme is an initiative of the National Legal Services Authority. Its objective is to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and realize the vision of a drug-free India. The scheme focuses on educating students and communities about the risks of drugs and encouraging collective efforts towards building a drug-free society.
He also provided legal information on the subject of child marriage at the event. He said that under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, the minimum age for marriage is 18 years for girls and 21 years for boys.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority also briefed students and others on the topic of human-wildlife conflict. She highlighted the features of India’s Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) Plan 2025.
Student Prerna shared her thoughts on drug abuse in the context of the National Legal Services Authority’s program. Student Deepti highlighted the impact of child marriage and its consequences on the younger generation.
Student Muskan Kaith expressed her views on human and wildlife conflict.
Sunita Thakur urged the students to stay away from drugs and work for the welfare of the society.
