Solan: The LR Group of Institutes, Solan, concluded its three-day 15th International Multidisciplinary Conference with a grand closing ceremony, organised in collaboration with Himalayan Rise under the coordination of Dr B.S. Chauhan.

The concluding ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh attended the occasion as the chief guest.

Welcoming the chief guest, conference convener and Principal Dr Nisha Sharma delivered the welcome address. Conference coordinator Dr B.S. Singh presented a detailed report highlighting the academic sessions, research paper presentations and various activities conducted during the three-day event.

The first session featured keynote addresses by MMU Vice-Chancellor Dr Ravi Sharma and Dr Mahendra Singh Thakur, Chairman of Environmental Science, HPU, Shimla. They shared their insights on various academic and research-oriented subjects, enriching the knowledge of participants. More than 1,500 participants joined the conference through online and offline modes.

In his keynote address, Prof. Mahavir Singh highlighted the growing importance of an interdisciplinary approach in contemporary education. He said students should not restrict themselves to a single discipline but should develop a broader understanding by integrating knowledge from different fields while retaining their core subject expertise.

He emphasised that interdisciplinary learning, technological resources and innovation were essential for improving the quality of education. He also underlined the role of digital tools, data communication and emerging technologies in addressing modern challenges.

Discussing issues of wider societal and global significance, he referred to disaster management, climate change and environmental concerns in the Himalayan region. He also highlighted emerging scientific developments, including artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum entanglement, and encouraged students to think creatively and contribute meaningfully to society.

The conference also witnessed an important academic collaboration, with LR Institute of Education and other degree colleges signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with UAE-based CERTIFAI Technologies FZCO. The collaboration aims to design, integrate and implement practical, technology-driven AI literacy and skill-development programmes for students. These initiatives will include Value Added Courses (VAC) and capacity-building programmes under the relevant academic course frameworks.

During the closing ceremony, participants who presented research papers and winners of the essay-writing competition were honoured with mementos and certificates in recognition of their achievements. Several academicians were also felicitated with Excellence Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

LR Group of Institutes MD Dr Shachi Singh, Dr Avneet Gupta, Dr Kanchan Bala, Dr Shweta, Dr Labh Singh and several distinguished guests, academicians, researchers and participants attended the ceremony.

The three-day conference concluded on a high note, providing a platform for academic exchange, interdisciplinary research, expert deliberations and meaningful collaborations, while reinforcing the importance of innovation and knowledge-sharing in higher education.
