Shimla, February 5, 2026:
The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday ordered a major reshuffle in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, transferring and assigning new postings to several senior and mid-level officers with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Home (Section-D), Inspector General rank officers and Superintendents of Police have been given new responsibilities across the state.
Shri Abhishek Dular has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Communication & Technical Services, while Dr. D.K. Chaudhary has been appointed as Inspector General of Police, Armed Police & Training at Daroh. Ms Soumya Sambasivan will additionally hold charge as Principal of Police Training College, Daroh.
At the DIG level, Shri Rohit Malpani has been posted as DIG Cyber Crime, and Dr. Ramesh Chander Chhajta has been appointed DIG Prisons & Correctional Services. Shri Devakar Sharma takes over as DIG Intelligence & Security at Dharamshala.

Several district-level changes have also been made. Shri Gaurav Singh has been appointed SP Shimla, Ms Sakshi Verma as SP State Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau (Mandi), Shri Sachin Hiremath as SP Una, and Shri Tirumalaraju SD Varma as SP Solan.
In addition, Shri Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel, while Shri Amit Yadav has been directed to report to Police Headquarters, Shimla.
The reshuffle is seen as a move to streamline administrative efficiency and strengthen policing across key wings including cyber crime, intelligence, vigilance, and training.
