Jogindernagar: A man was found dead in a private hotel room at Laxmi Bazaar in Jogindernagar on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jatu Ram, son of Soju Ram, a resident of Lapas village in the Chuharghati area. According to information received, the man had rented a room in the hotel on Saturday night.
Hotel staff noticed smoke coming out of the room on Sunday morning and immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot, opened the door and found the man lying dead inside the room.
The police have taken the body into custody and initiated further investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
