Manali Police’s campaign against drugs continues.
A police team recovered 24.690 grams of heroin from three youths in Manali. Based on secret information, the Manali Police team recovered approximately 24.690 grams from three youths in Aleu, adjacent to Manali. Police have registered a case against the three youths and started an investigation. DSP Manali KD Sharma informed that during patrolling, the Manali police, acting on secret information, recovered 24.690 grams of heroin from three youths: Pankaj Kumar (Panku), son of Subhash Thakur, resident of Aleu, Dr. and T/O Manali district Kullu, age 21 years; Jatin Sharma, son of Gagan Pradeep Sharma, resident of Chadiara, Dr. Gutkar, T/O Sadar district Mandi, age 21 years; and Rohit Singh (Jat), son of Dharm Singh Baroli, Dr. and T/O Naraingarh district Ambala Haryana, age 21 years. He informed that a case has been registered against the youths under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. DSP Manali KD Sharma stated that the police had received information that two youths, Pankaj Kumar, resident of Aleu, and Jatin Sharma, resident of Mandi, were selling chitta in packets around the hotel in room no. 304 in Aleu. If their room were searched, a large quantity of chitta could be recovered. Following this, the police took action and recovered this consignment.
