On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan today, members associated with various organizations came to the Raj Bhavan and greeted Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla by tying Rakhi to him.
Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Panthaghati and Brahmakumaris of Sunni Kendra tied Raksha Sutra to the Governor and wished him a long, healthy and prosperous life. Members of Rotary Club Shimla and Women of Self Help Groups from Basantpur of Shimla district also wished for the good health of the Governor by tying Raksha Sutra.
Office bearers and other members of Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society also congratulated and tied Rakhi to the Governor.
While congratulating the people of the state on Raksha Bandhan, the Governor said that this auspicious festival of brotherhood and harmony inspires us to stay connected to our high traditions and values.
The Governor also greeted all on a pious festival. The Governor also gave a message of environmental protection by presenting plants to them.
