Central government took steps, made every possible effort
Shimla, National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda today on Wednesday met the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Shri Narendra Modi for providing additional financial assistance of Rs. 633.75 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund to the disaster affected Himachal Pradesh. Expressed thanks to Amit Shah ji. He said that after the severe natural disaster in July-August, the situation in Himachal Pradesh was quite distressing. The state and its people had suffered huge losses due to heavy rains, floods and landslides. Shri Narendra Modi government was committed from the very beginning to provide relief, rehabilitation, development to the people of the state and to strengthen the economy of the state.
In view of the far-sighted vision of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and to provide immediate relief to the affected people, an inter-ministerial central team was constituted by the Central Government to assess the loss without waiting for any memorandum from the State Government. An amount of ₹200 crore was also released in advance from NDRF on 21 August 2023 to help the state government manage immediate relief operations. Before this, a total of Rs 360.80 crore was released by the Central Government to the former SDRF in two installments. Now once again an additional fund of Rs 633.75 crore has been released by the Central Government. Since the disaster, a relief amount of about Rs 1000 crore has been released by the Central Government for relief work, development and rehabilitation in Himachal Pradesh. About Rs 2,700 crore was given to the state under PM Gram Sadak Yojana.
Nadda said that the BJP government at the Center is fully determined and committed to the development and rehabilitation of Himachal Pradesh. In this direction, every possible step is being taken by the Central Government under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. I myself visited Himachal Pradesh in July and August to take stock of the damage and relief and rescue operations, and talked to the victims. Shri Narendra Modi government has worked with full promptness and seriousness for Himachal Pradesh and has resolved with full strength to help Himachal Pradesh in this hour of disaster. All our MPs also gave money from their MP fund for the disaster in Himachal Pradesh. The entire BJP leadership remained engaged in serving the public with full force. Center will leave no stone unturned for Himachal Pradesh. The Central Government will help Himachal Pradesh on every aspect.
Honorable National President said that the Central Government is committed to provide all possible help to Himachal Pradesh to come out of this disaster. In this hour of disaster, under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, every worker of the Central Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party stood and are standing with the people of Himachal Pradesh. The aim of the Bharatiya Janata Party government is to provide relief to the victims as soon as possible and once again make life easier for the people of the state. I once again express my gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his love and service towards the land of Himachal Pradesh.
BJP State President Dr Rajiv Bindal and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur also welcomed the approval of additional financial assistance of Rs 633.73 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund for Himachal Pradesh by the Home Ministry and expressed gratitude to the Central Government.
