Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN today dedicated to the public a double lane Steel Truss Bridge built on river Satluj by 210 MW Luhri Stage-1 Hydro Electric Project at Nirath .
Nand Lal Sharma addressed the present gathering and said that this 84-meter-long Steel Truss Bridge constructed at an approximate cost of Rs. 25 crores has been opened for all. The bridge has provided better connectivity for the villages of district Kullu & Shimla and is also facilitating in expediting the project activities. On this occasion, Sh. Sunil Choudhary, Head of Project, LHEP-1 along with project officials were also present.
Nand Lal Sharma took a detailed review of the ongoing excavation works for Dam, Power House, Tail Race Channel Arrangement, Flood Protection Wall and Plunge Pool area. Sh. Sharma apprised that the work of Power House Service Bay has been completed. The draft tubes, embedded parts of the units and Pit liners of auxiliary units have reached the project site. The electro-mechanical works of the project have commenced. The work on the Transmission Line for power evacuation from the project to the national grid is also in progress. He exhorted the project team, contractors and workers to keep up the dedication and work cohesively to complete the project before the scheduled timelines.
LHEP Stage-I is a run-of-river project situated downstream of SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station and is located in district Shimla and Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. On completion, the project will generate 758 million units of electricity annually. The project is contributing to the overall development of the area with community asset creation, infrastructure development and generation of direct & indirect employment. Various CSR initiatives are being implemented in the project vicinity by SJVN under Corporate Social Responsibility.
