Sujanpur Tira (Hamirpur): The historic town of Sujanpur Tira is all set to host the four-day National Holi Festival 2026 from March 1 to March 4. The grand celebration will be inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The festival promises vibrant cultural evenings, traditional performances, and musical concerts featuring prominent Punjabi artists including Babbu Maan, Mankirt Aulakh, and Sunanda Sharma. Large crowds from across Himachal Pradesh and neighboring states are expected to attend.
Platform for Local Talent
Special auditions have been conducted to provide a stage for local folk artists. A singing competition titled “Awaaz-e-Hamirpur” has been introduced for youth aged 16 to 35, encouraging emerging talent from the region.
Special Events for Women
To promote women’s participation, the administration has organized competitions such as rangoli, mehendi art, traditional Jhamakda folk dance, matka breaking, and tug-of-war. Winners will be awarded cash prizes.
Tight Security Arrangements
To ensure public safety, authorities have imposed a ban on carrying weapons within the Sujanpur municipal area during the festival. Adequate police deployment and security measures will be in place to maintain law and order.
The National Holi Festival of Sujanpur is one of Himachal Pradesh’s most celebrated cultural events, blending tradition, music, and festivity, and once again placing the town on the national cultural map.
