The District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Shimla, has invited online applications for allotment of Fair Price Shops at three locations in the district.
According to the notification, Fair Price Shops are proposed to be opened near Tutikandi ISBT in Ward No. 11 of Shimla city, Jatog Cantonment, and Gharog in Gram Panchayat Ghanewag Nehra of Shimla Rural. District Controller Narendra Kumar Dhiman said interested individuals and institutions can apply online by uploading the required information and documents on the Emerging Himachal portal. The last date for submitting applications is October 12, 2026. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
Applicants must have a minimum educational qualification of matriculation, while individual applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age. The required documents include the matriculation certificate and certificates of higher education, if any, documents related to financial status, and certificates concerning ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities and educated unemployed status. Applicants must also provide documents related to the availability of the proposed shop and its storage capacity.
Applicants belonging to BPL, SC, OBC or ST families will also be required to submit the relevant certificates. Those who are residents of the location where the Fair Price Shop is proposed must submit an attested copy of a certificate issued by the concerned panchayat. Applicants must also upload an affidavit stating that neither they nor any member of their family holds an elected position as an MLA, MP or in a local body.
The District Controller said applications submitted without the required documents would be rejected.
