Shimla: District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has announced the schedule for the special re-inspection of voter lists for Panchayati Raj Institutions in the district.
As per directions of the Election Commission of Himachal Pradesh, April 1, 2026 has been fixed as the qualifying date for inclusion of names in the voter list. However, the programme will not apply to Panchayats undergoing creation, reorganisation, or division.
According to the schedule, claims and objections can be submitted to the Revision Authority till March 28, while their disposal will be completed by April 2. Appeals can be filed with the Appellate Authority till April 10, which will be resolved by April 17. The final supplementary voter list will be published on or before April 20.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed all concerned officers, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Dodra-Kwar and Block Development Officers, to strictly follow the timeline and ensure timely completion of the process across all Gram Panchayats in Shimla district.
Officials have also been instructed to upload the finalized voter lists on ERMS software and ensure availability of printed copies at the local level, while maintaining complete transparency and avoiding any negligence in the process.
