Food safety lessons taught to students on World Food Day
BHMCT Department of Technical University celebrated World Food Day
Hamirpur. Department of Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur celebrated the program on World Food Day. Puneet Banta, Head of the Department, Institute of Hotel Management Hamirpur participated in the program as the chief guest. The theme of this year’s World Food Day is “Water is life, water is food, leave no one behind”. Addressing the students, the chief guest said that today the whole world is making efforts towards promoting food security. He called upon the students that we have to take initiative to stop wastage of food from our homes. Prepare as much raw food as is required at one time. So that cooked food does not have to be thrown away later. He said that there is maximum wastage of food in our country, to correct which all people at every level will have to play a role, hence we have to start it from our families first. He said that saving food items and water should be the priority of every person. Earlier, Aman and Vansh Jaswal of BHMCT taught food safety through poetry recitation. On this occasion, BHMCT professor Chandra Varun, Rahul Kaundal, Dheeraj and other students were present. At the same time, charts related to food items based on the theme on World Food Day were prepared by the students of BHMCT department. Which was observed by IHM HOD Puneet Banta. He appreciated the efforts of the students. 22 students displayed their talent on food safety in the chart exhibition.
