Shimla: Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani chaired a review meeting with officials of the department and the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board, directing them to align courses with industry demand and global standards.
He announced the creation of a ₹2 crore Innovation Fund to promote youth-led start-ups and strengthen the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Emphasising digital and AI-based learning, he said students would be equipped with modern, future-ready skills.
The Minister also highlighted the introduction of new ITI courses in horticulture, natural farming and dairy technology to boost the rural economy, and stressed the need to tap opportunities in the biopharma sector.
He said apprenticeship programmes would be expanded, grading of ITIs and polytechnics is underway, and a new scholarship scheme for girls will be introduced. A special grievance portal has also been launched for students.
