Shimla
To ensure smooth and timely supply of gas cylinders, route charts have been approved for all gas agencies operating in Shimla district. Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, said that 29 gas agencies are currently working in the district and each agency has been given a fixed route chart to deliver gas cylinders to consumers at designated points.
He said it is mandatory for all gas agencies to strictly follow the approved route charts so that gas cylinders reach consumers on time, especially in rural and remote areas.
District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Shimla, Narendra Kumar Dhiman, said that if gas cylinders cannot be supplied on the scheduled date due to unavoidable reasons, the concerned agency will deliver them the next day. In such cases, consumers and Panchayat representatives will be informed in advance through WhatsApp groups or phone calls.
He added that all gas delivery vehicles must be equipped with loudspeakers, weighing machines, gas leak detection devices, and must carry a copy of the route chart along with the prescribed rate list. Copies of the route charts will also be available at the gas agencies.
For any information related to the route charts, people can contact their respective gas agency or the District Controller’s office at 0177-2657022.
