Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, R. S. Bali, said that self-confidence and progressive thinking are essential qualities for today’s youth to achieve success in any field.
He was addressing the I CAN Conference titled “Leadership with Heart” held at The Lawrence School, Sanawar in Kasauli subdivision of Solan district.
Speaking on the occasion, Bali emphasized that true leadership requires honesty, dedication, and emotional intelligence. He said leadership with heart means understanding the emotions of team members, guiding them effectively, and appreciating diverse perspectives — qualities that define successful leaders.
He noted that such conferences provide students with opportunities to develop crucial skills including self-confidence, leadership abilities, communication and public speaking skills, conflict resolution, teamwork, and diplomacy. According to him, these initiatives help nurture responsible and capable leaders for the future.
Bali stressed that similar programs should be organized at schools and colleges across the state to empower youth at every level. He added that only confident and forward-thinking young individuals can contribute meaningfully to the development of the country, state, and district.
He also urged students to stay away from the menace of drug abuse and focus on constructive activities that shape their future positively.
Praising the I CAN Conference initiative, Bali said that such programs play a vital role in enhancing the confidence and leadership qualities of students.
