Visits IAMD Center at Solan

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that serving humanity was the true religion and it should be understood on the basis of life.
The Governor said this while interacting with people affected by Muscular Dystrophy at Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy (IAMD)-Manav Mandir at Kotho in Solan district today.
He said that the humanitarian work being done for the people suffering from Muscular Dystrophy at Manav Mandir was commendable. He said that tireless efforts were being made for the patients undergoing treatment here and was providing the best residential care besides physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, yoga/pranayam, meditation, recreation and orientation, genetic testing, psychological counseling etc. under one roof.
“This centre has religion but no sect and one realizes the same by coming here”, said Shukla.
He said if man learns to fight the unavoidable situations, the circumstances too make way for such strong willed people. As IAMD has come a long way since its inception the patients from all over the country and the world across come here for treatment, he added.
The Governor announced to give 50 thousand rupees to the centre from his discretionary fund.
Shukla said that people who were working for humanity were the real heroes and their service to mankind was an inspiration for others also. He said that charity given for such noble causes was always appreciable. He said that it was the moral duty of everyone to help the people in distress.
He appreciated the efforts of the patron of IAMD, Uma Baldi serving people suffering from muscular dystrophy.
The Governor also visited the different sections of the center and interacted with the patients suffering with muscular dystrophy.
Ms. Sanjana Goel, President, IAMD welcomed the Governor on the occasion and detailed about the disease and programmes being executed by the Association. She said that the Association was working for the last 32 years and all care, supervision and management was being provided through experts. She said that regular camps were being organized through the center.
