Shimla
This year, the city dwellers of Smart City Shimla got many big gifts, like an escalator in Jakhu Temple, the Dhali bus stand, and the Sanjauli smart footpath. The Rs 68 crore project to save the historic Ridge Ground is also almost ready. This has also increased the beauty of the Ridge. However, there are more than 15 projects worth Rs 300 crore in Shimla city that could not be completed till December. Due to the delay of government departments, these projects are incomplete even after three years. There are many among them that remained confined to files only this year.
At the beginning of this year, in March, the city got the biggest gift in the form of the Jakhu escalator. Lakhs of devotees going to the temple have gotten relief from the escalator. A new bus stand was also built in Dhali. From here, buses will now operate for upper Shimla. With the construction of the Sanjauli IGMC smart footpath, Chota Shimla walkway, and Circular Road footpath, the movement of people on foot has also become easy.
New shops were built in Rivoli Market; many book cafés also opened. There are some projects in the city, including Middle Bazaar Lift, which are almost ready, but due to lack of inauguration, the public could not get the facility of these this year.
These 9 projects are incomplete even after three years.
