Shimla: Continuing its crackdown against drug traffickers, Shimla Police has busted a drug trafficking network and arrested three accused involved in the supply of LSD.
According to police, a case (FIR No. 14/2026) was registered on March 10 under Sections 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at New Shimla Police Station. During the operation, police recovered 562 stamp-size strips (11.570 grams) of LSD from the possession of two accused — Sandeep Sharma, a resident of Dharamkot in Moga district of Punjab, and Priya Sharma, a resident of Dadahu in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
During detailed interrogation and analysis of digital evidence, police traced the supply chain and identified the LSD supplier as Naviel Harrison, a 27-year-old resident of Kozhikode. Acting on this information, a police team arrested him from Gurugram on March 13.
Initial investigation has revealed that Naviel Harrison and Sandeep Sharma had been in contact for a long time and were allegedly involved in LSD trafficking. Police also found that Sandeep Sharma avoided regular phone calls and communicated only through WhatsApp.
Investigators further suspect that Sandeep Sharma allegedly supplied cannabis (ganja) to Naviel Harrison in exchange for LSD.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to identify other persons involved in the drug trafficking network.
Shimla Police also revealed that 77 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act this year, leading to the arrest of 144 accused persons. Among them, 14 individuals were arrested through backward linkages from other states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and areas near the India–Nepal border.
Additionally, under the PIT NDPS Act, 30 individuals have been arrested and sent to jail in the past 48 days, as part of intensified action against drug trafficking.
