A policeman serving in Shimla has been caught with a stick. According to information received from media, 6.64 grams of chitta (heroin) has been recovered from a truck (HP24C-4303) in Bagi Binoola area in Bilaspur district. Two people including a policeman have been arrested in this case.
The incident took place around 12:30 am on Thursday, when Sadar police station’s investigating officer (IO) Sandeep Kumar was patrolling and barricading with his team. Two were detained during checking of the truck. Police have also seized the truck.
Confirming the incident, SP Sandeep Dhawal said that the arrested policeman was previously posted in Vigilance Bilaspur and was currently serving as a driver in Shimla Police Department. According to sources, efforts had been made to take action against this soldier earlier also, but he escaped every time.
The SP said that the police had kept a strict vigil on the people involved in suspicious activities, due to which this arrest was possible. Sadar Police has started in-depth investigation of the case and further legal action is underway
