Shoolini University celebrated Aazadi ka Amrit Mohatsav in the university premises on the occasion of 75th independence day with various patriotic activities and cultural programmes.
Former Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs Mr. Sanjiv Arora IFS (retd) was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Chancellor Shoolini University, Prof P.K. Khosla, inaugurated the event and spoke about why patriotism is important for the development of a nation. He also emphasised on teaching national pride in the classroom.
The Chief Guest recalled the independence movement and the contributions of freedom fighters. He applauded the efforts of Shoolini University in the field of research and academics.
In his speech, Pro Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand said he would like to dedicate this independence day to all the daughters who went through the pain of partition. “We must commemorate them and their sacrifices”, he added.
On the occasion, Vice chancellor, Prof. Atul Khosla, said that we need thousands of universities for the development of the nation. He also requested every student of Shoolini University to file one patent in their name and take a pledge on the Independence Day to do so.
Trustees Mr. Satish and Ashok Anand, Dean, directors, and other dignitaries attended the event which concluded with a scintillating cultural programme. The event was coordinated by the Dean Students Welfare, Mrs. Poonam Nanda.
