Shimla: The Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) has begun restoring roads dug up for pipeline installation under its 24×7 continuous pressurised water supply project, aiming to improve road conditions and provide relief to residents and commuters.

The metalling work on Baluganj Market Road has been completed, while the adjoining Advance Studies Road has been prepared for metalling with the laying of Wet Mix Macadam (WMM).

In the next phase, restoration work will be carried out on Khalini Market Road, Shanti Vihar Road and the stretch from Sanjauli to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC). The work is being undertaken in phases by teams from SUEZ under the project.

The road restoration drive is aimed at ensuring smoother and safer traffic movement on stretches affected by pipeline laying. According to the scheduled plan, restoration work will continue on other identified roads across the city in the coming days.
