Shimla: Road restoration work under the 24×7 continuous and pressurised water supply project being implemented by Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) in collaboration with SUEZ has gathered pace in the state capital. Roads dug up for pipeline installation are being restored in a phased manner to provide relief to local residents and commuters.
As part of the restoration drive, metalling work will commence near Chintpurni Sweets in Khalini Ward from Thursday, October 29. Company representatives have appealed to residents to extend their cooperation and avoid parking vehicles along the roadside during the work to ensure its timely and smooth completion.
The restoration process will initially involve laying Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), followed by metalling to improve road conditions. The initiative is expected to provide considerable relief to residents and motorists facing inconvenience due to the ongoing project work.
SJPNL and SUEZ are focusing on restoring roads affected by pipeline installation alongside strengthening the city’s drinking water supply infrastructure. The initiative aims to ensure smoother traffic movement, minimise public inconvenience and improve road conditions across the affected areas.
