Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that development is a continuous process. The present government is constantly making efforts for the complete and holistic development of the state. Sanjay Awasthi was addressing a program organized here today.
Sanjay Awasthi said that under the energetic leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is working to make women, especially those from weaker sections, economically and socially strong. He said that self-help groups are proving to be important in improving the economic condition of women. He said that the state government is ensuring that self-help groups get better prices for their products.
The MLA said that under the ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Sukh-Shiksha Yojana,’ the state government is bearing the expenditure on the education of the children of all widowed women whose annual income is less than Rs 1 lakh. Apart from this, a provision has also been made to provide Rs 1000 per month in the RD account of all eligible children of widowed, destitute, divorced, and disabled parents till the age of 18 years.
Sanjay Awasthi said that the state government is giving special emphasis to employment-oriented technical education. He said that in the present times, special emphasis is also being laid on employment-oriented education and training of youth as per the requirements of the private sector so that more and more youth can be provided employment. The present government has decided to extend the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Loan Scheme with the objective of benefiting meritorious students. Under this, it was also decided to provide the benefit of this scheme to eligible meritorious students who are interested in pursuing professional and vocational courses in educational institutions abroad. Under this scheme, the state government provides educational loans at an interest rate of one percent.
He said that the present government has also approved the preparation of comprehensive guidelines for hiring e-taxis under the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-up Scheme-2023. The state government has decided in the cabinet to increase the subsidy given on the fodder of cows in the state’s Gaushalas from Rs 700 to Rs 1200 per month per cow. He said that the Public Works Department has given its consent to merge the design wing with the civil wing. The change will make the working style of the department well organized and efficient.
Earlier, Sanjay Awasthi congratulated the newly elected vice-president of Nagar Panchayat, Padam Dev, and advised him to rise above politics and give priority to development. He said that public participation in development works is absolutely necessary; only then is complete development of Nagar Panchayat possible. He announced giving Rs 21 lakh for various development works of Nagar Panchayat Arki.
On this occasion, the MLA also heard the public problems and directed the officials to resolve them on a priority basis.
Earlier, during the oath-taking ceremony, Arki Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nishant Tomar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected Vice-President of the Nagar Panchayat, Padam Dev.
On this occasion, President of Nagar Panchayat Arki Anuj Gupta, senior Congress worker Satish Kashyap, Councillors of Nagar Panchayat Arki Ruchika Gupta and Nirmala Devi, nominated councillors Kuldeep Singh and Vinay Vashishth, former President of Nagar Panchayat Arki Seema Sharma, Sub-Divisional Soil Conservation Officer Arki Ravindra Kumar Sharma, along with officers and employees of various departments and local dignitaries, were present.
