President Draupadi Murmu honoured Sunil Kumar, a teacher from Chamba district, with the National Teacher Award-2024 at a program organized on Teachers’ Day in New Delhi. Sunil Kumar is a chemistry lecturer at the Government Senior Secondary School Khargat Singhuta in Himachal. Many of Sunil Kumar’s students have won awards at the national and international levels.
Sunil Kumar has been taking initiatives like increasing the enrollment of children, encouraging children deprived of education to study, conducting social audits, and providing staff training. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated Sunil Kumar on receiving the national award.
